The Laminex Group decorative surface finishes achieve GreenTag Level A certification

The Laminex Group recently achieved ecospecifier GreenTag GreenRate Level A certification for its decorative surfaces. This came after the company’s decision to shift all raw and decorated MDF (Medium Density Fireboard) products from E1 to the even lower formaldehyde E0.

The Laminex Group also offers Super E0 and No Added Formaldehyde (NAF) as well as low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) decorative surfaces.

Launched in 2011, the ecospecifier global GreenTag program is one of Australasia’s most respected third party environmental certifications recognised by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) and New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) Green Star Materials Calculator.

The GBCA introduced 3 different levels (A, B and C) for their Materials Calculator - A representing the highest rating possible. A number of Laminex Group’s products have achieved level A certification, including Laminex Timber Veneers, Laminex Structural MR E0 MDF, Laminex Contour and Contour Finedge Doors, Formica Low Pressure Melamine (LPM), Formica Melamine Doors and Trade Essentials Particleboard.

George Bej, The Laminex Group Marketing Manager, comments on the significance of sustainability; “The recent transition across the Formica, Laminex and Trade Essentials ranges shows our ongoing commitment to push boundaries, challenge best practice and give building and design professionals more choice when sourcing and specifying sustainable building products and decorative surface finishes.”
